Winning builds up our confidence

See below what coach Skorza said to the media representatives on the pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Zaglebie Lubin.

Preparing mentally...

Every win builds up the team. Right now I am not focused on the two-leg clash with Videoton FC, because I am still concentrated on the league table. We have to diminish the losses we suffered from in the opening games by winning every upcoming match, no matter if we compete in the league, or on the international arena. We have to learn how to play every three days.

We want to make sure that every single player is highly motivated ahead of each match. Tomorrow I will have a tough time to motivate my team. Nonetheless, every single of my players is aware that it's much easier to win the championship once than to defend it.

The absences

I don't have the medical reports yet, but most probably neither Douglas, Hamalainen, Jevtic nor Pawlowski will be seen on the pitch in Lubin.

Paulus Arajuuri has been training with the team since yesterday. After the evening session we will make a decision about the schedule of exercises for the next days. The Finnish player is not yet ready to play, and therefore his appearance against Zaglebie Lubin is unlike. Moreover, I don't yet know whether Linetty will play on Friday either because the player has been exhausted after the recent games.

In September there will be the National Teams' groupings. I believe that that will be the period when the players will get some mental rest and they will return all freshened up and determined to fight and get back in form for the second phase of the autumn round.

Dawid Kownacki

In the match against Korona Kielce I wanted to check Kownacki when placed on the position of no. "9", but Pawlowski's injury and Dudka's red card forced me to change the plans. Therefore, in the last game Kownacki was positioned on the wing. Nonetheless, I believe that Dawid has great potential to play as no. "9".

Zagłębie Lubin

The first matches are always tough for the teams that are new in Ekstraklasa. Zaglebie has many interesting and experienced players who perform well. I think that the team from Lubin can soon catch up to the top of the league.

The effective win against Blekitni Stargard was a confidence boost for Zaglebie and I know that tomorrow they will set the bar high. We have to be efficient, convert the opportunities we have into goals and score the three points that are very significant to us.

Coach Stokowiec and I know each other from the college times, and therefore I can say that he is an ambitious guy. He's very determined. Nonetheless, no matter what happens tomorrow, we have to play efficiently.
