The best offence in the league

Niels Frederiksen’s squad has been impressing with their offence since the start of the season. In the autumn round of PKO BP Ekstraklasa, Lech scored five goals against Jagiellonia Białystok and five against Legia Warsaw. The players from Poznań also found the back of the net three times in the clashes with Korona Kielce and Lechia Gdańsk. Only in three matches did Lech fail to score a single goal, all of which happened when Niels Frederiksen and his team were playing away.

Lech is also holding onto the great offensive form in the spring round. In their first league match of 2025, the players from Poznań scored four goals against Widzew Łódź. So far this calendar year, Lech has scored 19 goals and is on the right track to beat their achievement from the autumn of 2024. Regarding finding the back of the net, Lech’s current statistics are much better than the past two seasons, and only slightly worse than in the 2021/2022 campaign when they won their last Championship title.

In the most recent season, at this point of the campaign, Lech Poznań scored 40 goals and ended up with a total of 47 goals. Meanwhile, this season so far, Niels Frederiksen’s team has already beaten their opponents’ keepers more times than throughout the whole of last season. A similar thing happened in the 2022/2023 campaign when the team, led by John van den Brom, had 40 goals in their account after 28 league rounds, and ended up scoring 11 more. The current squad isn’t doing much worse than the one that won the last Championship title in 2022. Back then, by this stage of the season, Maciej Skorża’s team had found the back of the net 54 times and finished the campaign with 67 goals.

Therefore, Lech still has a chance to equalise or even beat their achievement from 2022. The trio Mikael Ishak, Afonso Sousa, and Patrik Wålemark have already scored 33 goals, which makes them the best offensive line in the league.
