In accordance with the decision of the Medical Commission of the Polish Football Association, Lech players can finally resume training sessions in small groups at the Poznań stadium.
A new phase of ‘de-freezing’ football competition in Poland has kicked off at the beginning of this season. On Monday, the squad and coaching staff, along with a few employees, underwent COVID-19 tests.
Following the Monday tests, the teams with 100% negative results of the blood tests were allowed to resume training sessions, among them Piast Gliwice, Górnik Zabrze, Raków Częstochowa, Śląsk Wrocław, Zagłębie Lubin and Pogoń Szczecin.
On Wednesday, additional tests were carried out and the Medical Commission of the Polish Football Association gave a green light to another batch of clubs – Jagiellonia Białystok, Cracovia, Wisła Cracow, and Lech Poznań.
We have been awaiting this moment and we are as thrilled as the players who will finally get to train in groups. Training sessions start on Wednesday – that’s when the first group will get back to work,” explained Karol Bartkowiak, Lech’s second coach.
For now, Lech’s players are going to train in groups up to 6. If the ‘defreezing’ of football goes according to plan, the squad will soon be reunited.
