The fans' support...
We need the stands to be full because the fans' support can really help us win. I ask for the supporters' attendance in tomorrow's match. I understand their frustration with the wins that never take place. The illness might have been wrongly diagnosed; maybe it's not a flu, but a more serious inflation, or a heart attack. Nonetheless, Lech is still in the ICU and the team needs its fans. I believe that metaphor is adequate to the current situation since we need help. I hope that the fans will be there tomorrow and they will support Lech while the team fights for the three points. I know how much the players want to win finally, but this is one of the situations that are tough to get out of, and therefore I call out for the fans support.
The tactics
It's been my first week with the team. Most of the players were on the National Teams groupings and only today will I have them all at my disposal. I see that something has changed - the footballers seem more hopeful and they train with more joy.
However, big changes require time. Tomorrow out little marathon starts during which we will play seven times in 23 days. There isn't a lot of time and there is little that one can change in this period. The squad is balanced and so I still have doubts about tomorrows starting lineup.
We have to start winning and collecting points immediately. Our current situation doesn't leave us a big margin for errors. We need wins to catch up with the teams that are above us in the league table if we want to be in the top 8.
The team
Lech has many goal-scoring opportunities, but none of them are actually converted in goals. In some situations its the matter of lack of skills, in other it's about the mentality. A forward that wastes a couple chances in one, two or three matches wants to end the bad series as soon as possible by scoring a goal. In many cases that is the reason that the footballer is blocked mentally.
Fighting alone doesn't get you far in football. Tomorrow I want to see footballers that are enjoying themselves in the pitch. Joy is as important as the fight itself. Right now we are working on the team's confidence that has been lost, since none of those players forgot how to play football.
I see that the players are opened and that they are very determined to put an end to this situation as soon as possible. I also know that they count on me as the person that will help them get it all straight. A new coach, a new training staff and new sessions bring positivity among the team ahead of tomorrow's match and I am absolutely sure that the players will give it all to collect those three points that so many people have been waiting for.
