On Thursday, the international players return from their national team groupings – that’s when Lech will resume the preparations ahead of the match with Warta (5:30 pm) with a full squad.
For Lech’s players, the September international break ends on Tuesday. It will be an important day for Jesper Karlström who will face Austria in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. The Swedish squad needs a win if they want to have a shot at advancing directly to the finals. Meanwhile, in Tallin, Michał Probierz’s U-21 team – with Maksymilian Pingot, Filip Marchwiński, and Filip Szymczak – is going to fight for points in the qualifications for the youth European Championship against Estonia.
Those four players will return to Poznań on Wednesday, and starting the next day, they will be at John van den Brom’s disposal. The Dutch coach mentioned last week that he will have the full squad available for three training sessions prior to the league Sunday clash with Warta.
On Tuesday, Lech U-18 squad will finish their tournament in Croatia. The youth team has five Lech players in their squad, among them Michał Gurgul who has made appearances in the Polish top division this season. The defender is set to return to Poznań on Wednesday. Miha Blažič is also expected to arrive to Poznań soon – the defender suffered an injury in Slovenia’s game on Sunday and is currently recovering, but he should be deemed fit to play within a few days.
