Lech Poznan lost the match against Pogon Szczecin 0:1. Lukasz Zwolinski scored the only goal of the game. It was the third time in a row that Lech failed to win.
The match in Szczecin began with Dwaliszwili's powerful shot in the 2nd minute which flew above the crossbar. Shortly afterwards, on the other side of the pitch, Kownacki fired a similar shot, also not on target. 2 minutes later, the young forward got another goal-scoring opportunity and yet again he failed to score, despite a good pass fromVolkov.
Lech was visibly determined to score and thus did not give up easily. The opening minutes were a spectacle of interchanging hits from both sides. In the 8th minute Pawlowski attempted to send a cross into the penalty area, but instead hit the crossbar. Gajos came close to scoring too, but his attempt flew centimeters above the goal. The midfielder had another chance a few minutes later when he fired a shot from outside the penalty area, but this time the goalkeeper intervened successfully.
Both goalkeepers played a key role in the Saturday match. In the 31st minute Buric was forced to how his skills when Akahoshi had only the goalkeeper left to beat. Shortly afterwards Dwaliszwili fired a shot from a distance, but again the goalkeeper defended the goal without a mistake. However, it was Slowik’s intervention that was worth replaying, since in the 41st minute the goalkeeper stopped Pawlowski's shot in an outstanding manner.
In the second half the hosts dominated the play and then came goal-scoring opportunities. After one of the offensive actions Buric was forced to intervene, but Murawski recovered the ball and redirected it at the empty goal. Luckily for Lech, the shot wasn't on target. Neither was Matras powerful shot fired a few moments later.
Nevertheless, in the 59th minute the hosts finally got what they wanted and worked for hard: a goal. Murawski converted a corner kick into a cross that Ceesay managed to redirect. However, Murawski recovered the ball and sent another center into the penalty area, this time a more precise one, which Zwolinski turned into a goal.
Having conceded a goal, Lech's attacks intensified. The team from Poznan moved into the defense, looking for a chance to counterattack. In the 68th minute the guests got a chance to equalize, but Gajos waited too king before firing a shot and thus his attempt was blocked. Ceesay had his goal-scoring opportunity too, but the right back's shot from a short distance hit the goalkeeper.
Lech dominated the play, but neither Pawlowski's individual runs, nor Volkov's crosses did result in an equalizer. The team from Poznan had problems with shooting in the second half, especially on target. In the 89th minute Bille found space to fire a volley at the goal, but lack of precision meant the ball did not find the back of the net. It was Lech's last goal-scoring opportunity, and therefore the match ended with a loss for the guests.
