Maciej Orłowski will no longer represent Lech Poznań. The right-back decided to sign a contract with Górnik Zabrze where he spent the last year on loan.
The 26-year-old defender joined Górnik Łęczna a year ago. So far, Orłowski officially represented the club on the second-division pitches 32 times. Recently, Lech and Górnik reached an agreement that allowed the right-back to join the latter club on a definitive transfer.
“We would like to thank Maciej for all the years he spent at Lech; the support he provided to the youth players entering the ranks of the reserves team was unparalleled. We wish him lots of luck and we’re hoping to meet again sometime in the future,” said Tomasz Rząsa, Lech’s Sporting Director.
Orłowski has been involved with Lech for years. As an academy product, he played at nearly every rank of the club’s structures. When he reached the reserves team, he became a key figure and had a great impact on the squad for the following 5 years. In total, he appeared on the pitch 136 times and scored 9 goals for Lech’s B team. The beginning of the previous season was definitely one of his career highlights – that’s when Orłowski spent 6 months competing for Ivan Djurdjevic’s first team and represented Lech’s senior side in 5 matches, including the Europa League qualifier against KRC Genk.
