On Monday evening, Jakub Moder signed a contract with Brighton & Hove Albion FC. The midfielder will stay in Poznań until the end of the season, having been loaned to his home club from the English side. Brighton can shorten loan and bring the player to England in the winter transfer window.
“Kuba has been of interest to multiple clubs recently. We have rejected many offers that we received over the past few weeks because we wanted Moder to stay in Poznań until the end of the season and help us compete on all three fronts, especially since we are preparing for Europa League group phase. Therefore, we have decided that we would only consider offers that included a loan until the end of the current campaign. We are glad to have achieved the objective,” explained Tomasz Rząsa, Lech’s Sporting Director.
“This past year has been a crazy one for me - so many of my dreams came true. I scored my first goal at Bułgarska street, helped the club achieve its objectives, got called up by the National Team coach for the first time and debuted for Poland. On top of that, I have signed a contract with a club from Premier League which is one of the best leagues in the world. However, I keep my feet firmly on the ground and I am glad to be staying in Poznań for a few more months. I know it meant a lot to the club, and to me too. We have just advanced to Europa League group phase and I wouldn’t want to miss it. Still, I am glad about the transfer because I no longer have to worry about my future and I can focus on the challenges I have ahead of me. The contract with Brighton gave me a sort of stability,” spoke Moder.
On Monday, the clubs and the player finalised the agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion FC who were ranked 15th in the Premier League last season. Since all Polish citizens flying to Great Britain need to go on a two-week quarantine, Lech’s midfielder underwent medical tests in Munich. On Monday evening, the player signed a contract with his new club and joined his Polish teammates for the international break. Following the national team training camp, Moder is going to return to Poznań where he will play until the end of the current campaign.
