Lech Poznan and Lechia Gdansk reached an agreement about Makuszewski’s future. The 27-year-old was bought by the club from Poznan after a season-long loan.
Makuszewski spent the past 12 months on loan in Lech Poznan. Shortly after the season ended, Lechia and Lech started a conversation about the player’s future. The clubs agreed on a definitive transfer which has already been discussed last season. The footballer signed a long-term contract until 30th June 2020.
“Maciej’s attitude, commitment, hard work and positivity proved that he deserves to play in Lech. Since Bjelica took over the team, Makuszewski has been performing very well and good statistics followed. The fans like the player too, which makes us even happier to have him around for the next 3 years,” explained Piotr Rutkowski, Lech’s vice-chairman.
Last season Makuszewski missed 3 matches only. He has 41 caps on his account so far, as well as 4 goals and 10 assists. In total, the winger spent 2782 minutes on the pitch. Last season the footballer also won Polish Super Cup and a bronze Ekstraklasa medal together with his teammates.

Throughout his career, Makuszewski played for a couple of different clubs, among them Lechia, Jagiellonia, FK Achmat and Vitoria Setubal. He has 144 league caps on his account and in those matches he scored 19 goals and assisted 27 times in total. While playing in Russia and Portugal, he appeared on the pitch 14 times.
