Lech Poznan - Gornik Zabrze 1:1

In the 10th round of  Ekstraklasa Lech Poznan drew with Gornik Zabrze 1:1. Dawid Kownacki got the goal worth a single point.

Knowing that the only way to leave the relegation zone was to win, the team from Poznan was focused on the offensive since the opening minutes. Ceesay was the first one to try and surprise Gornik's defense and while his shot flew above the crossbar, shortly afterwards Linetty was the first one to shoot on target. However, his attempt did not result in a goal either.

Skorza's players remained attacking, but still kept control over the match. The guests finally attacked in the second quarter of the match when Madej recovered the ball in the midfield and Gergel got a chance to shoot. However, thanks to Buric's successful intervention the ball did not fall into the back of the net.

Following that attempt, most of the play in the first half took place in the midfield. Late into the first part of the game Kownacki sent a good pass to Kaminski who tried heading the ball into the net. Pawlowski had a goal-scoring opportunity too, but neither of them managed to change the score. Linetty came the closest to succeeding when he sent a shot from outside the penalty area flying in the direction of Kasprzik's goal, but it missed the post slightly anyway.

The game remained similar after halftime - Lech was in possession of the ball and kept on attacking, while Gornik defended effectively and patiently waited for a chance to counterattack.  Dzwigala had a good opportunity to score after Gornik built one of such counterattacks, but the shot of the 20 year-old player flew a few meters above the crossbar.

The players from Poznan were dissatisfied with the draw and as the time passed, most of the minutes Lech spent in Gornik's penalty area. Gajos had the best chance to change the score, but the ball stopped on the crossbar. Kadar tried shooting from a distance shortly afterwards, but this time the goalkeeper stopped the ball successfully. In the 66th minute Lech finally found a way to place the ball in the net. Jevtic was the one who rushed into the penalty area and passed the ball to Kownacki, while the 18 year-old tapped the ball into the goal. However, it wasn't long before the score changed again. This time referee spotted Arajuuri touching the ball with his hand inside the penalty area and called for a penalty kick which Gergel converted into an equalizer.

In the last 10 minutes of the match both teams focused on the offensive and had multiple goal-scoring opportunities. Madej came the closest to scoring, but despite problems, Buric eventually stopped the ball. On the other side of the pitch Kasprzik was forced to stop the shots of Robak, Jevtic and Pawlowski. However, in neither of the cases did the ball fall into the net and therefore the game ended with a draw - a draw that places Lech at the very bottom of Polish Ekstraklasa.
