In the 19th round of Ekstraklasa Lech Poznan won with Korona in Kielce 1:0 and moved up the table to the top 8. The only goal of that match was scored by Hämäläinen.
The opening minutes of the match in Kielce were intensive. In the 5th minute Przybyla could have scored a goal after Kadar made a mistake and redirected the ball to Korona's player, but luckily for Lech the footballer hit the post. The guests had their own goal-scoring opportunity 6 minutes later when Douglas sent a cross into the penalty area and Kaminski attempted to head it into the net, but the goalkeeper intervened successfully.
Both teams played open football, but Korona mad more chances. Fertovs could have scored a goal when he sent the ball flying towards the goal from a distance of 20 meters, but fortunately for the team from Poznan Buric intervened well. A few minutes later the other goalkeeper had to show his skills when he was forced to leave the penalty area and stop Gajos from scoring. Both keepers were kept very busy as the two teams attacked intensively. Sierpina hit the crossbar, Przybyla's header missed the goal by centimeters, but it was Lech that celebrated a goal in the 33rd minute when Hamalainen was left unmarked in the penalty area and converted Douglas' pass into a flat precise shot.
After halftime the tempo decreased. Lech attempted to gain control over the game, but the team from Poznan found it difficult to dominate the play because Korona was determined and focused on its aim - to equalize. The hosts won a single match only when playing at home, but the match with Lech showed otherwise. Brosz's team caused problems to Lech despite the fact that the players from Poznan were in possession of the ball most of the time. Lech was eager to score another goal, but nor Jevtic, nor Pawlowski were successful in their attempts. Buric was forced to intervene too since Korona had multiple corner kicks. Despite Sierpina's great crosses, his teammates failed to convert the chances into goals. In the 66th minute Lech could have changed the score when Kownacki was left unmarked in the penalty area, but he slipped and his shot flew above the crossbar. In the last 15 minutes Lech tried exploiting the exhaustion of Korona's players, but most of all focused on the defending to eventually keep the sheet clean and thus win the fifth match in a row and add 3 points to its account.
