On Friday, Lech Poznań delivered an impressive performance. John van den Brom’s squad beat Korona Kielce 3:0 and jumped on the PKO BP Ekstraklasa podium with one more league game to go.
Korona played relatively well in the first 10 minutes, but following that, Lech gained total control of the game. In the 33rd minute, the team from Poznań opened the scoring sheet. After a few dozen passes exchanged between Lech’s offensive players, Michał Skóraś set up Kristoffer Velde with a good cross into the box and the Norwegian winger sent a strong, precise shot into the back of Korona’s net.
Velde continued impressing in the second half. First, he sent a perfect pass to Filip Marchwiński who tricked Korona’s keeper and changed the score to 2:0. Then, the Norwegian received another cross from Skóraś and this time he placed the ball in the net with his head.
As a result of the Friday win, and Pogoń Szczecin’s loss against Górnik Zabrze, Lech jumped back on the podium. The Poznań squad has one more league game to play – on Saturday, they will face Jagiellonia Białystok at home (5:30 pm).
