Gornik Zabrze - Lech Poznan 0:2

In the 25th round of Ekstraklasa Lech Poznan won with Gornik Zabrze 2:0. Kownacki and Pawlowski got the goals for the team from Poznan.

Lech's offensive actions began in the opening minutes and although the team from Poznan forced the hosts to retreat into the defense, it wasnt until the 24th minute that the fans saw the first shot fired. Lovrencsics was the one who attempted to surprise Gorniks goalkeeper, but he failed to.

Nevertheless, despite a long period of defending, Gornik eventually got opportunities to attack and when they did, Lech's defenders were in trouble. The hosts were looking for goal-scoring opportunities through corner and free kick. They came close to scoring when Kwiek decided to fire a shot from 30 meters, but fortunately for Lech, the ball slightly missed the post.

3 minutes later Lech scored the first goal of the night. Lovrencsics was the one who sent a cross into the penalty area from the right flank, but the ball was cleared out by the defenders. However, it was recovered by Pawlowski who left Steblecki behind, sent a center into the penalty area where Kownacki was waiting to place the ball in the net.

A single goal did not satisfy the team from Poznan, and therefore they did not cease their offensive actions. Nonetheless, Lech had to watch out for the hosts' counter attacks. In the 39th minute Gornik could have equalizer after Kwiek sent the ball flying into the penalty area, but luckily for the guests, Buric intervened successfully, although with the help of defenders who had to clear the ball out after the goalkeeper dropped it.

The second half began similarly to the first, with the guests' intense offensive actions. Shortly after the referee resumed the match, Linetty had a great goal-scoring opportunity when he came one-against-one with Janukiewicz, but failed to beat the goalkeeper. He had another good chance a few minutes later after Linetty received a cross from Lovrencsics, but his attempt wasn't any more successful.

However, the hosts had nothing to lose and thus they were the ones who dominated the second half through possession of the ball. Korzym's entrance gave fresh energy to the team and caused trouble to Lech's defenders. Kownacki played a similar role on the other half of the pitch.

For long periods of time Lech was forced to defend its goal, but their offensive actions were more and more problematic to defenders from Zabrze. In the 61st minute Kedziora received a pass from Lovrencsics, sent the ball to Kownacki, who fired a shot at the goal. The forward's attempt was blocked, but Pawlowski was more successful with his try and he sent a volley flying into the back of the net.

Lech was eager to increase the advantage over the rival, but Pawlowski's goal-scoring opportunities built by Kedziora and Jozwiak were wasted - either not on target, or blocked. Gornik wasn't any less determined, and therefore kept on attacking the opponent. However, the offensive actions did not bring the desired results since Lech's defense was solid and made little errors that night.

In the 80th minute Lech had a chance to score when, again, Pawlowski recieved a pass from Lovrencsics and was getting ready to fire a shot, but instead he collided with Kopacz and fell to the ground. The doctors decided not to take the risk and called for a substitution. Jevtic came in for the injured Pawlowski and brought some energy to the team, but eventually the match ended with a 2:0 win for the team from Poznan.
