"No team is going to surrender to us and it will be no different in case of Jagiellonia," said Karol Linetty. The midfielder is back at the coach's disposal after he's been out for yellow cards.
"No team is going to surrender to us and it will be no different in case of Jagiellonia," said Karol Linetty. The midfielder is back at the coach's disposal after he's been out for yellow cards.
The 21 year-old player highlighted the extraordinary performance of Jagiellonia. "It is the best counter-attacking team in the league, thus we need to be very cautious. For sure we are aiming at three points. We want to dominate the rival and win the match," explained Linetty. "For us, the game with Podbeskidzie was just an accident that can happen anytime to anyone. We'd slept through the first half. We woke up in the second part of the match and attempted to create something with the ball. I regret not being able to help the team," added the midfielder.
Nonetheless, the loss in Bielsko-Biala does not change the plans of the team. "We are going to fight for the top spot until the very end. We know that no team is going to surrender to us. It isn't going to be easy to continue winning since we are still the current champions of Poland and each team is eager to beat us," emphasized the young footballer, who's recently been playing as the offensive midfielder.
Linetty used to play next to Lukasz Tralka in the midfield. Now this part is often being played by Abdul Aziz Tetteh. "Both are great playing at this position. Maciej Gajos appears in the midfield often too. I feel good playing up front since that lets me employ a more offensive play," said Linetty. "Nevertheless, I know there are still many things I need to work on. For instance, I foul a lot because I am determined to recover the ball," explained the midfielder.
Linetty's good performance can turn out to be very beneficial for the player himself. The footballer remains in touch with Adam Nawalka, the coach of Polish National Team. "The coach called me ahead of the first match and asked how the pre-season went for me. For sure he has been monitoring the performances of many players. Euro 2016 is a huge tournament and you don't get many opportunities to play in it. And if I am to travel to France, I need to be healthy and at my best. It is the only way I can prove the coach that I deserve a place in the squad," highlighted Linetty.
