Lech Poznan lost the away league clash with Cracovia. Siplak scored for the hosts and set the final score to 1:0.
The match began very unluckily for Lech Poznan as the guests were already one goal down in the 6th minute. Cracovia led a counterattack, Wdowiak sent a cross into Lech’s box, and Siplak, who was left unmarked, redirected the ball into the back of the net. The team from Poznan quickly went back to work with a clear aim to equalize as fast as possible. A couple of minutes after Cracovia scored, Lech had an opportunity to pull one goal back, but Jozwiak’s header was off target. In the next offensive attempt, Kostevych set the ball for Marchwinski, but the young striker’s shot was significantly imprecise. Jevtic also tried surprising the keeper, however this time with a shot from outside the box, but it was equally off target.
The next phase of the match focused on the midfield with neither of the teams creating too many scoring chances. Cracovia was the first one to attack after this dull period and Buric was forced to intervene following Wdowiak’s attempt, however, luckily for the team from Poznan, he caught the ball successfully. The score remained unchanged until halftime.
In the second half, Cracovia was once again the better side. The hosts kept on building goal-scoring opportunities, with Wdowiak being especially active in Cracovia’s offensive line. However, a lot of the player’s attempts were either imprecise or saved by Buric. Meanwhile, Lech responded with Jevtic’s individual run, but in the crucial moment, the Swiss sent a very poor pass into the box.
After that offensive attempt, both teams slowed down and the match once again became lifeless. Finally, 20 minutes before the final whistle, Lech woke up. Jozwiak had an opportunity to score a crucial goal but his shot was both, too strong and not precise enough. On the other end of the pitch, Buric had to stop Hanca and Dimuna, whereas his teammates from the defensive line were forced to intercept Datkovic’s header which was flying in the direction of the net.
Lech fought until the very end, however, Gajos’ and Tralka’s unsuccessful offensive attempts didn’t give their team the very-desired equalizer, hence Cracovia got all 3 league points.
