On Saturday evening, Lech Poznań confidently defeated Stal Mielec 3:1 and held onto the leader’s seat. Daniel Håkans added his name to the goal scorers’ sheet in the first half - it was the winger’s debut goal for Lech Poznań.
Following the impressive, 3:0 win against Pogoń Szczecin, Niels Frederiksen’s squad welcomed Stal Mielec at Bułgarska Street. The hosts have quickly proved that their position as the leader of PKO BP Ekstraklasa is no coincidence. Rasmus Carstensen was the first player to find the back of the net, and less than a minute later, Daniel Håkans changed the score to 2:0. Although Stal managed to score before the referee announced halftime, thanks to Robert Dadok, in the second part of the match, Afonso Sousa set the final score to 3:1.
“We performed very well in the first 20-30 minutes. We won a lot of balls, and created scoring chances. We showed that we were the better team. After that, we slowed down a bit, but overall, we made a step in the right direction. We could have scored more goals, but it’s nice to be back on the winning track,” emphasized Håkans.
On Saturday evening, the Finnish striker scored his first goal for Lech Poznań. The 24-year-old tapped the ball into the net from a close distance, changing the score to 2:0 for the hosts. Yet again this season, the Finnish player showed his impressive speed – he had to run a long distance at full sprint to be in the right place, at the right time, and convert the attempt into a goal.
“Amazing feeling, I have waited for it for a long time. It’s great that I have finally found the back of the net because I have had a few chances earlier. Now that I have that goal in my account, I hope more will come,” said Daniel Håkans.
