Filip Szymczak will spend the remaining part of the 2024/2025 season on loan at GKS Katowice. The 22-year-old has joined the team from Silesia on a 6-month deal without the option of buyout.
Filip Szymczak is returning to GKS Katowice. Back in the season 2021/2022, when the club from Silesia was playing in the second division, Szymczak also spent time on loan at GKS. Back then, he made 32 appearances for the team from Katowice and scored 11 goals.
Filip’s adventure with Lech Poznań started in 2013 when he moved to Lech from the local club Warta. The striker made his debut for the senior team on September 24th, 2019 in the Polish Cup clash with Chrobry Głogów (2:0). He had to wait until 2020 to debut in PKO BP Ekstraklasa – finally, he made his first appearance on the league pitches in early spring, in the match against Raków Częstochowa (3:0).
So far, the Polish striker has played 110 games for Lech, scored 11 goals, and assisted his teammates 9 times. He also competes for the Polish U-21 national team and he has recently helped his squad qualify for the upcoming European Championship.
