Lech's players continue their unfortunate series of lost matches. In the pre-last round of Ekstraklasa Lech Poznan lost with Zaglebie Lubin 0:3. Maciej Dabrowski scored a double, while Arkadiusz Wozniak added another goal late into the game.
Lech got the first warning early, in the 2nd minute, when Piatek scored placed the ball in the corner net after receiving a precise pass. Nonetheless, the goal was disallowed due to an offside, which let the guests breathe with relief. The threat was a wakeup call for Lech which started to attack with more intensity. In the 11th minute Kedziora sent a cross into the penalty area and Polacek nearly redirected the ball into his own net.
The hosts built a few goal-scoring opportunities too. One of them was a shot fired at the goal by Piatek, but luckily for Lech, Buric managed to stop the ball at the right moment. In the 26th minute it was Lech that came close to scoring. The guests were awarded a free kick after Pawlowski was fouled in front of the penalty area. Gajos converted the free kick into a shot, although accurate, the ball stopped on the crossbar instead of falling into the net.
Lech's dominance was indisputable, especially since for majority of time Zaglebie was pushed deeper into its own penalty area. Nevertheless, Lech failed to finish off their offensive actions, which was the reason for all the recent losses. In the 37th minute Gajos attempted to place the ball in the net again, but this time his shot was stopped by the goalkeeper. On the other half of the pitch Starzynski converted a free kick into a shot that was on target, but easy to save for Buric.
The opening minutes of the second half were dominated by Zaglebie which immediately started causing problems to Lech's defense. In the 50th minute the hosts were awarded a free kick that Starzynski turned into a precise cross into the penalty area. Dabrowski was in the right place at the right moment and redirected the ball into the net. Having scored a goal, Zaglebie decided to concentrate on defense and wait for Lech's response. Nonetheless, the guests had no idea how to pass its rival's defense and equalize.
Lech's situation became even more complicated when Kedziora was forced to leave the pitch after suffering an ankle injury. Shortly afterwards Zaglebie scored the second goal. Again it was Dabrowski that placed the ball in the back of the net, but this time it from outside of the penalty area. The goalkeeper was left helpless as the ball hit the post and rolled across the goal line.
Lech had a couple of goal-scoring opportunities as well, but neither could Pawlowski, nor Jozwiak beat the goalkeeper either due to lack of precision, or the goalkeeper's good interventions. Meanwhile, a few minutes before the final time the hosts set the final score. Wozniak, who was left unmarked in the penalty area, converted Rakowski's great pass into the third goal. The same player had a chance to score another one, but this time Buric saved his team from conceding a goal yet again.
