With a few changes in the squad and a couple of key players missing, Lech effortlessly advanced to the round of 16 of the Fortuna Polish Cup. The top-division side beat their fourth-league opponent - Unia Skierniewice - 2:0 following a goal from Dani Ramirez and an own goal from Bartosz Broniarek.
In the round of 32 of the Fortuna Polish Cup, Lech was paired with Unia Skierniewice and travelled to the Łódź voivodeship to face the fourth-league opponent. Within 20 minutes, the team from Poznań secured a spot in the next phase of the competition. In the 9th minute, Dani Ramirez received a great pass from Michał Skóraś and beat the goalkeeper with a strong shot just under the crossbar.
10 minutes later, the Spanish midfielder, who was playing a brilliant game, crossed the ball into the box and Unia’s defender Bartosz Broniarek unluckily redirected it into the back of his own net whilst trying to intercept the pass.
Neither of the sides managed to change the score, despite Lech having numerous goal-scoring opportunities. Joao Amaral, who came in from the bench, had a great chance to add a goal of his own but he hit the crossbar. Meanwhile, another substitute, Norbert Pacławski came close to scoring with an impressive scissor kick, however, his attempt was slightly off target.
