Despite firing nearly 30 shots at their opponent’s goal, Lech Poznań failed to beat Stal Mielec. The match of the 13th round of PKO BP Ekstraklasa ended in a goalless draw.
Since the very first whistle, Lech was in control of the match, whereas their rival concentrated mostly solely on the defence. Stal’s goalkeeper was kept busy as the team from Poznań fired shots at his goal regularly, looking for ways to place the ball in the net.
Mikael Ishak, Joao Amaral, Pedro Tiba and Jakub Kamiński all tried to surprise Stal’s keeper multiple times but either Rafał Strzączek intervened perfectly or their attempts were off target.
Kamiński came very close to scoring in the second half when he received a precise cross from the left flank, but even though the winger was faster than the goalkeeper, his header stopped on the crossbar.
Despite losing points in Mielec, Lech remains the leader of PKO BP Ekstraklasa. In the next league round, the team from Poznań will face Górnik Łęczna (November 6th, 8 pm).
