Lech added another league win to its account on Friday, this time against Pogoń Szczecin. Dawid Kownacki scored twice in the first half and Marcin Robak set the score in the last couple of minutes of the match.
The match began really well for the team from Poznan. In the 3rd minute Rudol, Pogoń's defender, made a mistake and Jevtić recovered the ball close to the box. The Swiss midfielder sent a well-timed pass to Kownacki and the latter's shot rolled between the goalkeeper's legs and into the back of the net. However, as the minutes passed, the hosts began dominating the game. In the 19th minute Murawski's cross reached Ceftci, but the latter's shot at the goal was blocked by Wilusz at the last moment. 2 minutes later the defender made a mistake and Delew recovered the ball and sent a good shot at the goal. However, Putnocky intervened and redirected the ball above the crossbar.
Lech started building more scoring chances in the last quarter of the first half. In the 30th minute Gajos had an opportunity to score, but the goalkeeper stopped his attempt in time. 6 minutes later Lech added a goal to its account. Majewski sent a well-timed long ball to Kownacki, who was running into the box, and the youngster placed the ball in the net for the ninth time this season.
Pogoń had nothing to lose and, therefore, the hosts focused on the offensive in the second half. Frączczak had a scoring chance after Tetteh made a mistake in the midfield, but instead of shooting, Pogoń's player waited to be fouled in the box. Meanwhile, on the other end of the pitch Majewski decided for a shot from outside the penalty area, but this time the goalkeeper intervened without problems. In the 56th minute Pogoń scored a goal, but Delew was caught offside and the referee disallowed the goal. A moment later the Bulgarian midfielder made another attempt at scoring, but Putnocky stopped the ball in time.
While Pogoń was concentrated on the offensive, Lech waited for an opportunity to counterattack. Delew had a couple of opportunities to score, but he was often stopped by Lech's goalkeeper. In the 71st minute the Bulgarian footballer scored for the second time… but the referees spotted an offside once more and the goal was disallowed. What's important, the replays showed that the decision was correct.
In the meantime, Lech was focused not to concede a goal and secure the score. Trałka came on the pitch in the 80th minute and since then Lech played with two defensive midfielders. Marcin Robak was given a task to remain in possession of the ball on the rival's half of the pitch. In the 83rd minute the striker won an air clash with Rudol and because Słowik slipped, Lech's player had no problems placing the ball in the net. Interestingly, Putnocky was the one who passed the ball to Robak and, therefore, the goalkeeper now has an assist on his account.
