Ten Lech Poznań player will join their national teams during the upcoming international break, five of whom are a part of the first-team squad.
Lubomir Šatka and his colleagues from the national team will compete in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Slovakia’s rivals are Slovenia and Malta, however, Šatka’s squad has already lost the chance to compete at the tournament in Qatar. Nika Kvekveskiri and his teammates are in a similar situation – Georgia is ranked pre-last in the group table and has no chance of appearing at the World Cup. The team led by Willy Sagnola will first play against Sweden and then against Uzbekistan in a friendly game. Meanwhile, after three years, Jan Sýkora has once again been called up by the Czech Republic coach. The midfielder will have a chance to compete in a friendly match against Kuwait and a World Cup qualifier clash with Estonia. The Czech team is fighting to hold onto the second position in the group table which will guarantee them a spot in the playoffs.
Jakub Kamiński, Michał Skóraś and Filip Marchwiński have been called up by coach Maciej Stolarczyk for the U-21 European Championship qualifiers against Germany and Latvia. The first match is crucial as Antonio di Salvo’s squad hasn’t yet lost any points and they are ranked first in the group, whereas Poland is third with a 5-point loss to the German team.
Meanwhile, Krystian Palacz will have an opportunity to appear on the pitch during the friendly game against Romania. It’s the defender’s first call-up for the U-20 Polish squad. His younger Academy teammates, Bartosz Tomaszewski, Mikołaj Tudruj and Dawid Zięba will fly to Spain for a U-17 tournament during which they will compete against Mexico, the Czech Republic and Norway.
