In the last game of the 2013/2014 season, Lech lost in Warsaw with Legia 0:2. Vrdoljak and Bereszyński got the goals for this years champions of Poland.
Since the beginning both teams struggled for posession. However, neither Legia nor Lech managed to take over the initiative. The hosts were the ones who kept the ball most of the time but the team from Poznan created good chances. In the 8th minute Linetty sent a great ball to Pawłowski in the penalty area but the winger, despite having time, shot the ball too light to cause any trouble to Kuciak. Legia had their first opportunity in the 32nd minute but Kędziora forsaw the intentions of Kucharczyk and stopped him. The ending belonged to the guests. Both Hamalainen and Pawłowski tried surprising Kuciak but the Slovakian goalkeeper was in the right place at the right time and the result at halftime was 0:0.
The second half began well for the hosts. In the 46th minute the ball accidentally hit Linettys hand and the Japanese referee pointed at the middle of the penalty area. Vrdoljak beat Kotorowski and the result changed to 1:0. Lech was close to equalizing in the 59th minute. Hamalainen received the ball sent by a cross from Możdżeń and shot, but the ball on its way hit Rzeźniczaks elbow. This time, however, the referee decided not to call it a penalty. In the 68th minute Kuciak had difficulties with Hamalainens shot from a distance but in the end he successfully intervened. In the 77th minute Kotorowski was tested by Brzyskis great shot from a free kick. 4 minutes later Pawłowski shone with a great action. The winger rushed into the penalty area and set the ball for Claasen but the latter instead of shooting right away hesitated and lost the ball immediately. In the 85th minute Kamiński and Kotorowski made a colossal mistake that ended with Bereszyński taking over the ball and setting the result to 2:0 with a lob.
