On Sunday Lech Poznań registered a 3:1 (2:1) win over Zagłebie Lubin within 23 Day of Ekstraklasa. Although guests took the lead through Szymon Pawłowski, Lech turned the game on its head before the break with goals scored by Gergo Lovrencsics and Kasper Hamalainen.
In the second half Piotr Reiss with its late goal secured the win.
Second-placed Lech Poznań knew before the game that has to win against eighth Zagłębie to maintain only four point loss to the first Legia. Lech Poznań dominated the first half, though 24 139 viewers at Poznań City Stadium were shocked by the early goal for Zagłębie (5.), after the Pawłowskis winged ball which surprisingly found the way into the box. The loss affected the home team positively, bringing even more motivation to the players. With just over half an hour gone, Lech were leading 2:1 through goals from Gergo Lovrencsics (16.) and Kasper Hamalainen (32.). First goal with assist from Murawski and a very smart, willful miss from Hamalainen, was scored after one-to-one situation with Lovrencsics and Gliwa, the goalkeeper from Zagłębie. After about 15 minutes Hamalainen exchanged the ball with Ślusarski and powerfully shoot on the targer from 35 meters. The goalie of Zagłębie had no chances at all to stop the precise shot.
In 59th minute the coach of Lech Poznań, Mariusz Rumak made two substitutions because the team was not playing as satisfactorily as in the first half of the game. In place of Ubiparip and Ślusarski on the pitch appeared Możdzeń on the right flank and Teodorczyk on the front. These changes helped to get the game away from the goal of Lech and to create some situations to score. Three minutes before the end of the regular time, second-half substitute Piotr Reiss secured the win with a smart, left-footed shot from 15 meters after a pass from Możdzeń (87.).
