In the pre-last league game of the season, Lech Poznań beat Ruch Chorzów at INEA Stadion 4:0, guaranteeing themselves the second in history title of the vice champion.
There was a lot at stake for both teams on the Wednesday evening. The first quarter was balanced, short of emotions. But since the 15th minute Lechs advantage grew visible, despite the hosts not creating many chances. In the 25th minute the team from Poznań should have scored their first goal but Teodorczyk did not use a great opportunity by passing inaccurately to Hamalainen. 5 minutes later the guests replied with Babiarz shooting from outside the penalty area but the ball stopped on the post. In the 36th minute Lechs offense finally succeeded. Lovrencsics sent a cross from the right wing to Pawłowski who had no trouble sending the ball past Kamiński with a flat shot. 2 minutes later the result changed to 2:0. Teodorczyk held the ball in the penalty area for Henriquez and the Panamanian sent a precise cross right on the head of Hamalainen. The Finnish player beat Kamiński, setting the halftime result.
Ruch clearly tried catching up in the second half but they didnt have an idea of how to beat Lech. The hosts kept on creating chances and causing trouble to their opponents. In the 49th minute Pawłowski found himself in a good situation but his header was saved by Kamiński. In the 68th minute there wasnt much the goalkeeper could do. Pawłowski began the offensive action with a well-timed pass to Kamiński, the defender sent the ball to Teodorczyk and the forward easily placed the ball in the net. 10 minutes later it was Henriquez who shone with a great pass to Claasen, who being one-on-one remained calm and gave no chance to Kamiński. A minute later Injac, playing for the very last time in the colors of Lech at Bułgarska street, could have made it 5:0 but his header was slightly inaccurate. The hosts crashed Rush 4:0, this way guaranteeing themselves the second place in the league.
