Lech Poznan won the first winter sparring match against Polonia Środa Wielkopolska 4:3 (2:0). Gytkjaer, Majewski, Jevtic, and Situm scored the goals for Lech.
Bjelica’s players dominated the match since the opening minutes and they got their first scoring chance very shortly after the first whistle. Gytkjaer received a precise pass from Kostevych and fired a shot at the goal, but Polonia’s goalkeeper managed to stop the attempt. Jozwiak tried surprising the keeper a few moments later, but his shot was slightly off target.
The Danish forward didn’t waste the next opportunity that came along. This time he received a pass from Majewski and left the goalkeeper helpless whilst he put the ball in the back of the net. A couple of minutes later, Gytkjaer could have added a second goal, but this time the ball hit the side net.
15 minutes into the match Lech was already up by 2 goals. Majewski’s shot was blocked by Polonia’s keeper, but the midfielder’s second attempt fell into the back of the net. The further into the game, the closer Lech seemed to scoring another goal. Polonia struggled to build scoring chance until the 28th minute when Bartoszak fired a shot from outside the box that Buric managed to save without any problems.
Lech’s players had an opportunity to score the third goal in the 35th minute. Barkroth raced down the right flank and sent a flat pass into the box, but neither Gytkjaer, not Jozwiak managed to tap the ball into the net. Therefore, Lech finished the first half leading with two goals.
Bjelica decided to send a different XI for the second half. Tomasik made his debut for Lech too. The team from Poznan continued dominating the match and added the third goal in the 68th minute following Jevtic’s beautiful shot from outside the box. Polonia gradually started causing problems to Lech’s defensive line and managed to score in the 76th minute after being awarded a free kick.
Situm responded with a header that gave Lech a three-goal advantage. However, Polonia didn’t give up and was pushing on Lech’s goal relentlessly. Within three minutes, the 3rd league team scored 2 goals and set the final score to 4:3.
