Lech Poznań - Jagiellonia Białystok 5:1

Jagiellonia kicked off the game well and manager to build three good scoring chances in the first few minutes. Bezjak, Novikovas, and Gut all attempted to surprise Buric with shots at the goal, but the Bosnian keeper intervened successfully. Meanwhile, on the other end of the pitch, Lech struggled to come close to Jagiellonia’s goal. In the 13^th minute, Situm sent a long ball to Gytkjaer, but the goalkeeper was quicker than the Dane.

The team from Bialystok quickly converted one of their goal-scoring opportunity into an actual goal. Lech was given a set piece that initiated Jagiellonia’s counterattack. Frankowski was quicker than Radut and Kostevych, and found himself one-on-one with Buric. After entering the box, Frankowski passed the ball to Novikovas who had an open net and effortlessly placed the ball in the goal.

Nevertheless, Lech was going to give up and in the 25th minute, they placed the ball in Jagiellonia’s net for the first time that Sunday evening. Majewski crossed the ball in the box where Situm was waiting patiently to place it in the goal. However, after a couple of minutes, the referee used VAR and ruled off the goal after noticing that the Croatian midfielder touched the ball with his hand. In the 39^th minute, Lech scored again, but this time legally. Situm spotted Gytkjaer who was positioned in the box and the Dane beat Jagiellonia’s keeper with a header.

After halftime, Lech started dominating the match and remained in possession of the ball for most of the game. In the 49^th minute, Gytkjaer could have scored once more, but this time his attempt was slightly off target. Shortly afterward, the forward’s shot was blocked by one of the defenders. Nonetheless, Lech kept on attacking relentlessly and in the 53^rd minute, they scored once more. This time Kostevych got the assist and Dilaver placed the ball in the back of the net with a header. The second goal was the turning moment of the match.

Jagiellonia was very determined to equalize as quickly as they could, but their offensive tactics left space for Lech to counterattack. In the 70^th minute, the hosts built a quick offensive action, but thanks to Kelemen’s intervention, Jagiellonia didn’t concede another goal. The Slovakian keeper was the key player and his saves were crucial for Jagiellonia. For example, in the 73^rd minute, the goalkeeper managed to stop Gytkjaer’s shot at the very last moment before the ball crossed the goal line.

However, 3 minutes later the goalkeeper was helpless. Runje’s handball resulted in a penalty kick for Lech that Jevtic easily converted into a goal. In the 84^th minute, Jozwiak added another one after placing the ball in the net with a strong shot right into the corner of the goal. It was Tralka who set the final score to 5:1 with a header that Kelemen had no chance of saving.
