In the 19th round of T-Mobile Football League Lech Poznań just drew with the last team of the league-GKS Bełchatów. For Lech it was a 5th consecutive match without a win at home. For the team from Bełchatów 4th goalless draw this year.
Before the match against Bełchatów Lech was pretty much favoured and bound to win. Some bookies were paying up to 11 zł for Lech's loss. It seemed that the players trained by Kamil Kiereś would play like Polonia Warszawa, defend on their own half and look for opportunities to counterattack. Nothing could be further from the truth. The first half was very even. The guests had the first opportunity to take the lead when Burić parried superbly a shot from Żurek in the 3rd minute. Lech answered 10 minutes later, but the shot of Tonev went into the center of the goal and Zubas had no problems in defending it. Those who hoped that time would work for the advantage of Kolejorz experienced a bitter disappointment. Guests continued to be an equal rival and they looked mainly for shots from the distance. Wacławczyk and Madej were most accurate in their attempts, but Burić was vigilant in each shot on target. Trałka tried the same tactic but Zubas-Bałchatów goalkeeper -was where he should be. The best opportunity to score by players of Mariusz Rumak was created in 38th minute of the game. Tonev came up the left side of the box and put the ball up to Hamalainen who ,from just a few meters, shot straight into Zubas. Unfortunately, it was the only goal attempt created by players of Lech in the first half, which ended in a goalless draw.
During the break coach Mariusz Rumak decided to strengthen the firepower and substitute Drewniak with Lovrencsics. The change brought the desired effect, because right from the beginning of the second half Lech finally began to dominate in the way the fans expected the team to do. In the 50th minute Henriquez caused a lot of problems to Zubas, but the Lithuanian managed to cope with the shot. 7 minutes later Lovrencsics wasted a magnificent goal opportunity. The Hungarian received a great pass from Hamalainen, but lost the duel against Zubas. Few seconds later, the cross from Lovrencsics landed on Trałka's head but he hit it on the bar. In the 66th minute another great opportunity was wasted by Ceesay, who hit the ball out of tune after a precise cross from very active and visible Lovrencsics. 3 minutes later, GKS was very close to taking the lead. After a cross from a corner kick from Wacławczyk a juicy volley hit was delivered by Wilusz. The ball, which was heading for the goal, was cleared by Linetty from the goal line.
In the 72nd minute the entire stadium roared with delight after a shot from Lovrencsics, but this turned out to be premature, because the ball after a shot from the Hungarian deflected from the hands of Zubas ,bounced off the crossbar and in the opinion of the referees did not cross the goal line. 5 minutes later Bełchatów had another dangerous attempt in the penalty box of Lech when after a corner Burić brilliantly defended a header from Sawala. Coach Mariusz Rumak was desperately looking for three points and in the final quarter of the match sent Reiss and Ślusarski onto the pitch. The most experienced player of Kolejorz could have become a hero in the 83rd minute. Reiss received a great pass from Lovrencsics, but having plenty of time to hit, he kicked into Zubas. In the 88th minute Ślusarski had another great opportunity to score, but his header was too light to surprise Zubas. Unused goal attempts could have taken revenge on Lech just a minute later. Basta broke through Lech's defensive line and played it to Wacławczyk, who wasted a match ball, missing the goal from two meters and sending the ball over the bar! Although there were many goal attempts and shots there were no goals and the game ended in a goalless draw.
