In the last friendly match ahead of the second phase of the season Lech Poznan beat Elana Torun 8:0. Gajos, Makuszewski, Kownacki, Nielsen, Jevtic and Robak scored the goals for the team from Poznan.
Lech’s indisputable advantage since the first whistle quickly resulted in a goal scoring opportunity for the hosts. In the 8th minute Makuszewski sent a cross into the box, Jevtic received the ball, but he was blocked at the last moment. 9 minutes later the ball fell into the back of the net for the first time. However, Tralka’s header was disallowed due to an offside.
Nonetheless, it did not take long for Lech to score again. In the 19th minute, Gajos decided for an individual run. He dribbled between two defending players and scored from outside the box. A couple of minutes passed and Makuszewski converted Majewski’s good long ball into a clever shot that left Elana’s goalkeeper helpless.
In the 37th minute, the score changed to 3:0. Again it was Makuszewski who played a key role in Lech’s goal action. This time a pass from Jevtic put him one-on-one with the goalkeeper and the winger had no problems placing the ball in the net. Before the referee whistled halftime, Elana’s goalkeeper added another goal to Lech’s tally. Piotrowski intervened poorly and Majewski’s cross into the box led to the goalkeeper’s error.
The second half was composed of Lech’s frequent goal scoring chances as well. Jevtic was the first one to get a good opportunity to change the score, but this time the goalkeeper made no error. A few minutes later Kownacki succeeded and placed the ball in the net from a close distance. The goal followed Lech’s very creative execution of a corner kick.
The scoring did not end there. In the 64th minute, Nielsen added his name to the list of goal scorers. The Dane received a good pass from a corner kick and turned it into a fifth goal. 7 minutes later the referee awarded Lech with a free kick just outside the box. Jevtic converted the set piece into a precise shot that left the goalkeeper without a chance.
The guests had little opportunities to score. However, in the last quarter of the game, Elana built a couple of offensive actions that, unfortunately for the guests, did not result in a goal. Meanwhile, in the 79th minute, Robak’s attempt was stopped by Elana’s goalkeeper. Nevertheless, 5 minutes later the forward managed to beat Piotrowski with a strong flat shot that set the score to 8:0.
