Lech Poznan beat Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza 3:1, following a hat-trick from Gytkjaer. The team from Poznan are, therefore, currently occupying the second rank in the league table.
The match could have begun perfectly for Lech when in the 4th minute Gytkjaer received a great pass from Jevtic. However, Dane’s shot was easily stopped by the keeper. On the other end of the pitch, Piatek had a good scoring chance following Putnocky’s mistake, but the player’s shot on an empty net was blocked by Gumny at the last moment.
Lech dominated the match and has numerous opportunities to change the score. Radut’s two attempts from outside the box where too weak to surprise Termalica’s keeper. Jevtic tried too, but his shot, although much stronger, was also stopped by the goalkeeper. In the meantime, Lech had to be cautious whenever Termalica was awarded a set piece.
In the 36th minute, Lech finally scored. Kostevych crossed the ball into the box towards the closer post where Gytkjaer was waiting to redirect the ball into the back of the net. 90 seconds later the score changed once more, also thanks to the Danish striker. Putiwcew lost the clash with Jevtic and Gytkjaer finished off the offensive action with a precise, confident shot.
Lech did not stop pressing on Termalica’s defense line in the second half either. Gajos and Radut had chances to score the third goal, but the goalkeeper intervened without an error. Similarly, when Situm attempted to surprise the keeper with a flat shot towards the further post, Mucha successfully stopped the ball.
In the 60th minute, Gytkjaer ha dan opportunity to score his 3rd goal that night. The Dane received a good pass from Gajos, dribbled past one of the defenders, rushed into the box and fired a shot. Just when it seemed that Lech had everything under control, to everyone’s surprise, it was Termalica that scored. One of the players from Nieciecza crossed the ball into the box from the corner of the pitch and Putiwcew redirected it into the net with a header. Lech responded 6 minutes later with a third goal from Gytkjaer. This time the Dane decided for an individual run and he finished off his impressive offensive action with a precise shot. It was Gytkjaer’s first hat-trick for Lech Poznan.
