Lech's Saturday match against Śląsk Wrocław was a masterpiece performance. The team from Poznań beat the league vice-leader 4:0 and strengthened their position at the top of the table.
Before the match truly began, the hosts were already up by one goal. To everyone’s surprise, Joao Amaral scored a great goal with his weaker leg. His precise and strong volley left Śląsk’s keeper helpless.
Lech didn’t slow down and kept on looking for another goal whilst dominating the match. In the 30th minute, Śląsk was awarded a corner kick. The team from Wrocław decided to play it out from the back but Mączyński’s shot was blocked, and then intercepted by Kamiński. Since Śląsk’s player was the last one in the defensive line, when the young winger took control of the ball, he raced down the open pitch and effortlessly beat the goalkeeper.
Shortly after halftime, Lech’s young winger changed the score to 3:0. This time, he successfully dribbled past two defenders and beat Szromnik with a precise, flat shot. 3 minutes later, Śląsk’s goalkeeper had to take the ball out of the net again as Mikael Ishak set the final score to 4:0 with a very strong shot which followed Kamiński’s successful interception close to the penalty area.
The hosts had a few more goal-scoring opportunities but failed to change the score. In the next league match, following the international break, Lech will face Legia Warsaw in an away game (October 17th, 5:30 pm).
