And the wins continue. Lech Poznań triumphed in the fourth PKO BP Ekstraklasa match in a row, this time against Lechia Gdańsk. The 2:0 win helped Lech stay in the leader’s seat.
In the Sunday clash with the team from Gdańsk, there was no doubt which side was the better one and deserved three points. Lech dominated throughout the whole 90 minutes and sealed their great performance with two goals, one in each half.
Shortly before halftime, Mikael Ishak opened the scoring sheet with a beautiful shot right under the crossbar. “I have managed to hit the ball very precisely. It was one of those situations when you either send the ball under the crossbar and into the net or the shot will be very much off-target. This time I was lucky and the ball ended up where it was meant to,” laughed the Swedish striker after the match.
Following halftime, Nika Kvekveskiri added his name to the goalscorers’ list with a beautiful shot from a free kick which set the final score to 2:0. The hosts had a few more goal-scoring opportunities but they lacked effectiveness and accuracy.
More importantly, Lech won their fourth league game in a row, once again without conceding a goal. Next weekend, the team from Poznań will face Pogoń Szczecin at home, on Saturday at 5:30 pm.
