“My return to Bulgarska street wasn’t successful, since we lost, but I stilled enjoyed coming back here and seeing the club and the fans. It is a pity though that the attendance wasn’t high,” said Siergiej Kriwiec, Lech’s ex-player.
The Belarusian footballer played for Lech for nearly three years. After 4 years spent on foreign lands, the midfielder returned to Poland to continue his career in Wisla Plock. “Lech is, and always will be a special club to me. I have spent great years here and there are a lot of happy memories I associate with the place. Of course, winning the Polish Championship is my biggest success with Lech, but the group phase of Europa League and the matches against Manchester City and Juventus are something I won’t ever forget,” said Kriwiec.
A long time has passed since Kriwiec last wore Lech’s shirt and since then most of the footballers who played alongside the Belarusian left the club as well. Only three of Kriwiec’s former teammates are still competing for Lech Poznan. “Back then Tomasz Kedziora was just being introduced to the first team, and now he is the captain!”, laughed the midfielder. “Apart from Kedziora, I have played alongside Tralka for a month’s time. Jasiu Buric was there as well, but today he wasn’t playing. Some of the training staff members are still the same. The greenkeepers, the priest, the physios and Mister Geniu... I had a lot of people to chat with,” told us Kriwiec.
Lech’s ex-player still visits Poznan often. Since he returned to Poland, he has been to the city a couple of times already. “My wife comes from Poznan and we bought an apartment here, therefore I visit the city regularly. I have been to the stadium recently too; I watched Lech’s clash with Pogon during which Bjelica debuted,” explained the midfielder.
Kriwiec wasn’t a part of Wisla’s starting lineup on Saturday. The footballer came in on the pitch in the 61st minute. “We lost a goal very early. We have to admit that we struggled to play good football. Our plan was to score first, but since we failed to, and Lech played good football, they simply deserved to win the match,” pointed out the Belarusian midfielder.
