Lech Cup 2014 will host top youth teams

The champions to return

Last years final was undoubtedly exciting. In the crucial match the young players of the first league Hertha Berlin had to face the English giant Chelsea London. The 12 year-olds Blues did not have an easy task the players from Berlin had yet been undefeated in the tournament. A two-goal lead in the last quarter seemed to guarantee the trophy would land in the hands of the young Germans but Chelsea did not give up. A goal scored in the 87th minute gave a spark of hope but in end it was Hertha who took the trophy home and the Germans will return this year in hope they can succeed the second time in a row.

The Austrian revenge

The spectacle that took place on 2nd October 2008 at the INEA Stadium wont ever be forgotten by the fans. Many claim it was the most exciting game that was played in the heart of Poznan. The passionate clash between Lech and the team from Vienna was solved in the 120th minute when Murawskis goal sent Kolejorz to the group phase of Europa League. In December the 12 years old homegrown players will meet each other in the Lech Cup tournament. Its a game you cannot miss, especially when such a prestigious trophy is at stake.

Croatian experience

Dinamo Zagreb is one of the teams that can be found among the favorites. The Croatian stars have already won Lech Cup back in 2012. However, the valuable European title is not the only achievement that places the Croatians high on the starting position. The club from the capital is famous for producing outstanding homegrown players. The likes of Real Madrids midfielder Luka Modrić or the Brazilian forward Eduardo da Silva are only two of many more that started in Dinamo and reached the very top. In December the fans will have a chance to see the young Croatian players for whom Lech Cup is another step on the way to the worlds greatest clubs.
