Lech Poznań UAM sealed their first summer transfer – Julia Przybył. The player has been training with the team for some time now, but only now has she become an official part of the squad led by Alicja Zając. “Julia has great technical skills, despite her young age. She also has a great shot from distance and stands out with her intelligence on the pitch. All of it is a result of the experience she gathered at Akademia Młodych Orłów, the national teams, and the Central Junior League,” explained Tomasz Mendry, Woman’s Football Team Coordinator.
Julia Przybył began her football career at the age of six. The winger previously trained at Lech Poznań Football Academy where she met coach Alicja Zając, and then joined KU AZS UAM Poznań Football Academy. The 15-year-old is Lech’s first summer transfer.
“There are no words to describe this feeling. Of course, I am very happy to become an official part of the team and to compete for Lech in the upcoming season. My personal objective is to regularly be part of the starting line-up. In addition, I am looking forward to giving my all to the team, scoring a few goals, and most importantly, helping the team win promotion to the first league. I believe we have a good shot at that; the team has great potential. We have worked hard during the preseason, and we are ready for the upcoming challenges,” said Julia Przybył.
The winger made an appearance in four friendly games for Lech Poznań UAM during her trial period and scored 4 goals – against Jarota Jarocin (3:0), Ostrovia 1909 Ostrów Wielkopolski (7:3), Ślęza Wrocław (2:1), and Polonia Środa Wielkopolska (2:3). “Julia is one of the biggest talents in Greater Poland. She is a left-footed player that has been regularly called up for the national team and she not only perfectly fits our style and our philosophy, but also comes from Poznań and supports Lech. Ever since she was a child, she came to the stadium regularly to support the team. Her favourite player is Barry Douglas – he also happens to be her role model. It was only a matter of time before she joined Lech Poznań UAM. We met with Julia’s parents and outlined the plan we have prepared for her. She has amazing potential, and we want to make use of it,” highlighted Tomasz Mendry.
Przybył will have her first opportunity to debut for the woman’s squad on Saturday – that’s when the team will kick off the league season with a clash with Ostrovia 1909 (12:00 pm, UAM Morasko Stadium).
