Lech’s match against the last team in the league table didn’t go as planned. The team from Poznań drew with Górnik Łęczna 1:1 but managed to hold onto the leader’s position.
The game in Łęczna began perfectly for Lech. In the 18th minute, Joao Amaral converted Mikael Ishak’s pass into a precise shot from a short distance and changed the score to 1:0. Following the goal, the team from Poznań stayed in possession of the ball but struggled to break down Górnik’s defensive line and create good goal-scoring chances.
Although the hosts didn’t perform well in the offensive either, 10 minutes before the final time they led a single counterattack that gave them a valuable equalizer. Janusz Gola converted a precise cross from the left flank into a header that left Filip Bednarek helpless.
Despite losing points in Łęczna, Lech remains the leader of PKO BP Ekstraklasa. Following the international break, the team from Poznań will face Piast Gliwice on November 20th, at 8 pm.
