In the match of the 14th round on Ekstraklasa Lech Poznan drew with Slask Wroclaw 1:1. The team from Poznan played a poor first half and despite a better performance in the second 45 minutes, Urban's players failed to collect all three points. Maciej Gajos got the goal for Lech.
Both teams began the match calmly and it wasn't until the 12th minute that either of them caused any problems to the rival's defense line. Slask was the first one to attack, but Buric managed to convert Holota's shot into a corner kick which eventually gave Lech a chance to counterattack, although without much success. The team from Poznan had a better opportunity a few minutes later when Gajos sent a shot from outside the penalty area flying towards the goal, but one of the defenders managed to stop the ball.
Both sides were concentrated on counterattacking thus at times the game seemed lifeless. The two teams built offensive actions relatively slowly, cautious not to make a mistake, but overall Slask was better prepared in terms of the tactics and in the 23rd minute the hosts scored a goal. Paraiba left one of Lech's defending players behind and sent a cross into the penalty area where Flavio Paixao was left unmarked. Buric stopped the Portuguese's header, but was helpless when the player sent the second shot into the back of net.
Lech did not intensify their attacks after conceding a goal - the players from Poznan remained building their actions slowly and patiently, mostly relying on the crosses sent from either of the flanks. In one of such offensive plays Gajos attempted to head the ball into the back of the net, but Pawelek intervened successfully and even managed to stop Hamalainen from firing another shot in the direction of the goal. Slask quickly moved the play towards Lech's goal. Paixao had another goal-scoring opportunity, however this time he was successfully blocked by the defense line from Poznan. His teammate Zielinski had a chance too, so did Gajos and Lovrencsics, but neither of the teams was effective in their offensive actions.
The same two players from Poznan had good goal-scoring opportunities about 10 minutes into the second half, but their attempts to surprise the goalkeeper with a shot from outside the penalty area were unsuccessful. Dudu's and Gecova's shots were blocked. Gradually Lech started dominating the match and they used their opponents lack of focus to equalize. The defense line from Wroclaw left Lech's player unguarded and Gajos headed the ball into the net. Hamalainen who got an assist in that action could have scored a few minutes later, but his header missed the goal by centimeters. The domination of the team from Poznan was clear, however Lech failed to score another goal and since Slask wasn't any more successful, when the referee ended the match, the two teams had to share points.
