Lech Poznań scored the opening goal in the clash with Ruch Chorzów following a great attempt from a Swedish duo – Jesper Karlström sent a perfect cross into the box, whereas Mikael Ishak’s precise header put Lech in the lead. It is the third such case when the two players are directly involved in a goal.
Both Ishak and Karlström are performing remarkably in the recent games. Lech’s captain got back into scoring rhythm after his return from an injury, and in the past five games, he scored five goals and had three assists. Meanwhile, the Swedish midfielder has already achieved the best personal statistics since he joined Lech (1 goal and 3 assists). The league clash with Ruch Chorzów demonstrated the two players' understanding. Shortly before scoring the goal, Ishak showed exactly where he wanted to receive the ball, and Karlström effortlessly delivered.
It was the third goal in which the two Swedes were directly involved. The last two times that Ishak and Karlström successfully converted an attempt into a goal was back in the Championship season – in the anniversary game against Jagiellonia Białystok (3:0) when Karlström set up Ishak with a clever pass and the latter opened the scoring sheet, and then a month later, when the midfielder scored a goal of his own in the clash with Górnik Łęczna (3:0) after receiving a pass from the captain. It was Karlström’s first goal for Lech Poznań.
However, it wasn’t the first time a Swedish duo was directly involved in a goal. 9 months earlier, Lech faced Miedź Legnica at home and Mikael Ishak, with Filip Dagerstål's help, scored the match's only goal.
