On Thursday Lech Poznan will face CF Os Belenenses at INEA Stadium. The current season has been historic for the Portuguese team as it's been the first time ever that the club advanced to Europa League group stage.
The recent season has been one of the best in the club's history. The team from Belen was placed 6th in the league rank and due to the high national coefficient, they were the last Portuguese team that was allowed to compete in Europa League qualifications.
The team from Portugal started off their qualifications from the II round where they faced IFK Goteborg (the club that eliminated Slask Wroclaw). In the first match Sa Pinto's players won 2:1 while in the second leg, thanks to a goalless tie, the team advanced to play-offs.
In the IV qualifying round the Portuguese footballers had to fight against Rheindorf Altach. Belenenses won in Austria 1:0 and once again drew 0:0 when playing at home - a result which put the Portuguese group in the Europa League group stage for the first time ever.
The Polish Champions will face Belenenses on Thursday, September 17th at 21:05, at INEA Stadium.
