“I believe that the bar will be set very high for the clash with Zaglebie, even higher than in the previous match, especially because it’s an away game and playing in Lubin isn’t easy. As for the match against Wisla, we need to forget about it and keep on working hard in order to win the upcoming games,” explained Pawel Tomczyk, Lech’s homegrown player.
Following the lost clash with Wisla Cracow, Djurdjevic’s footballers emphasized that the whole team and their poor performance should be held responsible for the conceded goals. Lech’s young striker agrees with his teammates.
“The whole team is responsible for the offensive as well as for the defence. We made mistakes that resulted in conceded goals and we all need to work hard to prevent them from happening again, not only the defensive line. It also applies to me because even though I am a striker, as the saying goes, the forwards are the first defenders,” explained Tomczyk.
Tomczyk has scored two league goals this season so far, both in his debut match against Zaglebie Sosnowiec which he played in from the first minute. “I want to get as many minutes as possible and I want to prove it during training sessions and games. I want to score regularly and help the team, which I hope will happen as the time goes by. I fight for a spot in the starting line-up with Christian Gytkjaer - a class player who brings a lot of quality to the team. However, I believe the two of us differ and we complete each other well,” emphasized the young forward. “My dream has been to be a part of Lech’s starting line-up and score a goal. Unfortunately, my dream has come true without anyone watching from the stands, but I am sure I will get another chance. I hope that the more I play, the more chances I am going to get to make the fans happy,” added Tomczyk.
